CONFLUENCE

We were asked to design an interior lobby sculpture for a new Public Safety training facility for the City of Woodbury, Minnesota to serve the City Police, Firefighters, and EMT services. The challenge was to produce a piece which would represent increased coordination between the City service personnel, create a visually compelling street presence for the facility, and create a permanent work of art within a modest budget. We chose to do this through original graphic symbols and LED lighting effects, which are particularly effective in the evening when the facility is most heavily used. The background LED lights reference major star positions on the date the building was dedicated.
