This terrazzo installation was done as part of a new Public Library for Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Project architects, MS&R, used historically suggestive materials and design for the building. We worked with the Library Design Committee to develop a concept that would refer to the history of Steamboat Springs and acknowledge the importance of the topography of the region. The compass roses are located at the main Library entrances. The line work, from brass, mosaic and water-jet cut Avonite®, depicts the main topographical features of the surrounding region.
